iPhone wallpaper sizes for every model
Every iPhone since the X has the same tall screen shape, about 19.5 by 9. Our wallpapers are 1290×2796, which is that shape, so they fill any of those phones with little or nothing cut off. The older iPhones with a home button, and the new iPhone Duo, have squarer screens, so iOS trims some of the picture on those.

If you are making your own wallpaper, use your phone's exact screen size from the table. A picture in a different shape still works, but iOS will crop it to fit.
If your wallpaper looks zoomed in
Usually the picture is fine and one of the Lock Screen effects is enlarging it. Touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, then tap the Lock Screen.
- If the wallpaper is a spatial scene, the 3D effect that came in iOS 26, tap the spatial scene button to turn it off. It enlarges the photo so it has room to move.
- Tap the ⋯ button and turn off Perspective Zoom, which does the same thing when you tilt the phone.
- If the clock is hiding part of the picture, turn off Depth Effect in the same menu.
Then pinch the picture back to where you want it and tap Done.
Where the clock goes
The clock covers roughly the top sixth of the screen and widgets sit under it, so every wallpaper here keeps its subject in the middle, where nothing covers it.
